Ammonia nitrogen is converted into nitrate nitrogen under the action of nitrifying bacteria, and then further converted into free nitrogen by denitrifying bacteria.
The traditional AO process has low denitrification efficiency, especially the total nitrogen (TN) easily exceeds the standard, and the remaining sludge is large. QCL-HB-SODP builds an autotrophic-heterotrophic synergistic denitrification system, using integrated equipment. The first HB-BPVA uses organic matter as microbial electron donors in the denitrification stage of the A stage, and uses heterotrophic nitrogen removal. Afterwards, the nitrate nitrogen that does not reach the standard due to the imbalance of C/N ratio enters the SODP autotrophic nitrogen removal system for deep autotrophic nitrogen removal. The whole system does not need to add carbon source. After the two systems are combined, the filler carrier and the organic matter in the water together act as microbial electron donors, and nitrate serves as the final electron acceptor, reducing nitrate to nitrogen, realizing the harmless treatment of sewage, maximizing the TN removal rate, and fully ensuring the effluent TN meets the national emission standards.
